How to Stay in the Flow, and Manifest Your Heart’s Desires
Written by Camille Lucy
As the wonderful Abraham-Hicks teaches, life is an experience of contrast. You learn what you want, what you do not want, what feels good and what doesn’t. By living a life of duality, we are able to discern what is for us and what is not. We create dreams and visions of fulfillment and what that looks and feels like for us.
Though we understand this on a very primal level, what we may not understand is how to stay in alignment with the things that we want more of, to manifest the things we desire and how to create the life of our wildest dreams.
Life causes you to expand.
The first step in the manifestation process, or creating a life that feels amazing for you, is living the ebb and flow of your daily experiences. Your external world causes you to expand: to dream bigger, to learn more about yourself, to discover what your likes and dislikes are, and what feels good for you or doesn’t. This is a natural process and there is little we need to do here except pay attention. And what we need to pay attention to is simple: what feels good? What feels exciting? Liberating? Joyous? This is the place where the magic happens.
Focus on the Good.
“Find something that makes you happy and fixate on it. That is the answer to all things. It’s the answer to getting everything that you want.” – Abraham Hicks
Once we pin down what we want and what makes us feel great, the next step is to focus on that. And I don’t mean focus on the lack of it. I mean focus on the feelings of it. The joy it brings you. The passion that ignites inside you. The excitement and anticipation that those thoughts spark in your body. Like children who naturally have the ability of laser focus, practice putting your attention on all the things that make you feel good. Stay very present in the moment, cherishing those feelings and allowing them to last longer. Savor it like you would your favorite meal or drink.
Ignore your 5 Senses. (Life is Always Causing)
“Talk as if what you want is in the process of coming.” – Abraham Hicks
When we are not feeling good, this is our internal barometer signifying we are out of alignment with the truth of who we are and the Source energy within us. Negative feelings are alarms that tell us we are allowing our thoughts to move us away from what we want. You may say, “but I don’t have that job yet” or “that house yet” or “that partner yet.” It’s true that your desires may not have shown up yet in physical form but the shift into lack, and focusing on that, takes us out of feeling good and pushes our desires away. You may be so close to getting that new job, a new opportunity, meeting that special someone, or finding the house of your dreams. So don’t give up just yet. Speak as if you already have what you want. Feel it in your body. Recite affirmations that keep you in that high vibration.
Point Your Arrow & Stay General. (Life is Always Causing)
Like an arrow shoots off in the direction it is pointed, we go in the direction of our focus. Always. There is no such thing as “no” so consider that every thought you think is a “yes.” What are you saying yes to? Are you saying yes to a messy house, too many bills to pay, a lazy spouse or a job you hate? Any time you think about these things, you’re activating that vibration. You are pointing your arrow in that direction. If you can’t feel good about your job because you can’t tolerate your boss or co-workers, then don’t think about your job. Think about something else. Think about something general. Something less important to you that isn’t emotionally charged. Think about the delicious cookie you just ate. Think about the bath you’re going to take and relax in tonight. Think about the crisp air, the chirping birds or the beautiful moon in the sky. Reach for better feeling thoughts every chance you get and give yourself a break from the things you feel aren’t working in your life.
Take a Back Seat and Surrender (Let it Go).
“All you gotta do is chill out... Let go of control and chill out... Let it be, Trust.” - Abraham Hicks
Send your wishes off into time and space and let go. Really. Let it go. Don’t think about it obsessively, don’t wonder when it’s coming or why it hasn’t come yet. Shift your focus on to something else and let life unfold naturally. Sit in the back seat, look out the window, sing to the radio, enjoy the ride and you will get to your destination. Your desired place. Your desired feelings. Meddling, micromanaging and being frustrated over what you wanted yesterday only creates resistance, which pushes it farther away from you since your focus is on the lack of it. Why isn’t it here yet? Remember, that’s a yes for its absence in your physical experience.
Appreciate. Appreciate. Appreciate. (Life is Always Causing)
“Upon waking, let your first thought be, thank you.” – Abraham Hicks
This is key. Focus on the good in your life. What makes you feel alive. This can be as simple as having running water, a bed to sleep in and a Sun to rise to. Gratitude is proven to have immense benefits on our emotional, physical and spiritual states of being. To improve your health and vitality, and let’s not forget raising your vibration and manifesting your heart’s desires, practice gratitude each day. Jot down a list of 5 things you are grateful for. Create a gratitude jar. Tell people why you appreciate them. Simple acts of appreciation can and do go a very long way.
If you stumble and fall, brush it off. No sweat. Bad thoughts happen. Bad days happen. Write it off as a mishap and shift your focus onto something that feels better.
“When you reach for the thought that feels better, the universe is now responding differently to you because of that effort. And so, the things that follow you get better and better, too. So it gets easier to reach for the thought that feels better, because you are on ever-increasing, improving platforms that feel better.” – Abraham Hicks
If you’re angry, reach for frustration. If you’re frustrated, reach for a thought that takes you out of that place and brings you to peace. Any rung up the ladder is a success. If you’re sad but still able to feel gratitude for the breath in your body and your beating heart, you’re getting somewhere. Before sleep, reach for general thoughts that make you appreciate yourself and your life and start over again, the next day.
It may take time to integrate these steps into your daily life. But each baby step is one step closer to transformation and leading the life that feels authentic, aligned and fulfilling to you. The more we focus on the good in our lives, the more good we notice and the more good things we naturally attract to us. The more we surrender our false sense of control, the more we allow the Universe to show up for us in ways even bigger than we ever imagined. The more we focus on appreciation, the greater sense of deep inner peace and joy we cultivate. The more we open up to receiving, the more love we feel and share.
“Like the air you breathe, abundance in all things is available to you. Your life will simply be as good as you allow it to be.” – Abraham Hicks
