5 Quick & Easy Snacks
We have all found ourselves invited to Christmas parties. You know you want to bring something that everyone will love to eat but with all the crazy demands on you at this time of year, you need some inspiration for snacks to bring and share that won’t break the bank.
Ditch Your Go-To Snack
We hear you because like you we are always looking for that something special so we don’t default to our go-to.
Not that there's anything wrong with having a go-to but truth be told if the same people go to the other parties you attend it gets a bit old and if your go-to is what you are known for it had better be super awesome or it will become the same old, same old. The likelihood is that if this has been your go-to for a while it is someone else's go-to. This could mean turning up at a party with the same dish as someone else. Now we don’t want that happening, do we?
So what other quick and easy snacks can you prepare to wow the guests at the next Christmas party you attend?
1. Create A Watermelon Basket
This idea makes the most of seasonal fruit (saving on cost) and uses the watermelon itself as the basket - so no dishes to remember to take home or disposable plates to buy!
To make your watermelon basket look really classy use a good quality fruit carving tool. This will take the wow factor to the next level and make you look like a pro!
2. Create Maple Walnut Cream Cheese Snack Bites
Have you thought about a mix of bought ready made ingredients using fresh ingredients in the kitchen to add that something special. This can save on time, and who doesn’t want to save time! This snack creation is also one that you can work with the family to create to give each snack a different look and taste. It all starts with the ingredients you choose to decorate with and how creative you want to be.
3. Try A Twist On The Traditional Dips
Are you guilty of bringing the same old trusty dip to parties? So you remember when everyone bought a french onion dip, or more recently, everyone loves guacamole? How about mixing it up and introducing a new taste sensation for others to share. The Roasted Beetroot & Macadamia Nut Dip even looks festive!
Wow others with the depth of taste in the roasted beetroot mixed with the creaminess and crunch of the macadamia. All you need is a good food processor to make this happen. You can serve with a mix of crackers to compliment and you have a quick and easy plate that will start some conversations.
For an alternate option you may also wish to include this quick and easy to make Red Kidney Bean Hummus

5. Get Healthy With Arabian Style Pinwheels
Often the fare at Christmas Parties is rich and decadent with not a lot of healthy choices for guests. Why not bring something that is lighter, healthy and so easy the kids can help you make them.
